Are you insured?
Yes, we have full public liability, professional indemnity, custody of care and key protection.
What experience of dogs do you have?
Combined we have over 18 years of veterinary nursing experience and we have all owned dogs throughout our lives.
Most importantly, we still continue to develop our nursing skills with workshops, and we all own at least one dog each!
What if there is an accident?
We all carry a backpack with a Veterinary First Aid kit, mobile phone and your contact details, and being nurses we can deal quickly and efficiently with injuries.
We also know where the nearest veterinary practice is if needed.
How do you control the dogs you walk?
We only walk small groups of dogs at a time, and your dog will be walked on a lead until you, the dog, and we are happy that they will safe. We also try to keep similar abilities and sizes in the group for safe and happy play.
Where do you walk?
In the local countryside, away from main roads and where your dog will be safe to play. We always try to check the areas where we walk the dogs beforehand for any dangers.
How do you transport the dogs?
We do not use crates, except for teeny tiny dogs. The cars are fitted with walk-in safe cages, and there is a large bedded area where large dogs can sit. There are safety guards, mesh and boot separators - so the dogs cant jump out without our say so! We also can use seatbelts for individual dogs.
What other experience do you have?
Lots of life experience as 'mature ladies'! Our experience in the nursing field, and our continued studying of canine behaviour means we can quickly tell the difference between a dog that is 'playing up' and one that is in genuine distress. Dogs are very honest creatures, and knowing how to read their language is important when caring for them. A dog that suddenly snaps at another may actually be afraid or injured, rather than disliking that dog. Continued learning is important when dealing with animals and is something we try to maintain.
How long will my dog be out?
We walk for an hour, but your dog will be out for about 1 1/2hrs, depending on our travel route. Because we never Relay-walk, we take a little longer than those who leave half the dogs in the van for an hour and then swap. We collect, walk, dry-off and water, drop home - generally taking about 1.5 - 2 hours.
Do you practice basic training whilst out walking my dog?
Yes, this allows us to establish ourselves as leader when your dog is with us, which keeps your dog safe. We can use commands that you use and reinforce any training that you do.
Will I be updated on my dogs days out with you?
Your dog will be issued with a 'Report Card' each month. This means you know where we have been and how your dog has got on with us, who their friends are, any problems we may be having and so on.
What if I go away on holiday/am off sick etc?
That's fine. If you are having a holiday, or for any other reason you don't need our services on a particular day, let us know at least 24 hours in advance please. Cancellations on the day may result in a charge, as our day is already organised and slots are filled.
If you are off sick, to save us from being scared silly when we get to your house, could you text or telephone us to let us know please. We can be nice and quiet then!
How do we pay?
You can set up a standing order, pay by bank transfer, cheque or cash. We can invoice you monthly for daily/regular walks, or pay-as-you-go; it's up to you.
